Aurum Jewelry Studio is a locally owned, family business founded by Richard Bauer and Gloria Crews in 1986. Through decades of changing economic conditions and the unique challenge of building both a successful business and life together, Richard and Gloria remained dedicated to creating beautiful, meaningful jewelry while building lasting relationships with their customers. They credit the loyalty and support of their clients for allowing them to share in countless milestones, celebrations, and cherished family memories through their handcrafted jewelry. Following Gloria's passing in 2022, Richard and his family remain committed to honoring the vision they built together by continuing the tradition of exceptional craftmanship, integrity, and the genuine love of all things sparkly.
Richard earned his Master of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from Indiana University and holds the prestigious Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Ian completed GIA's Graduate Diamonds program and is currently pursuing his Graduate Gemologist diploma. Ian has spent a lifetime developing his craftsmanship and passion for jewelry design under Richard's guidance and officially joined Aurum Jewelry Studio in 2012 and is now serving as Master Goldsmith. Jessica earned a bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in Computer Science from Northwest Florida State College and has been an integral part of the family business since 2007, serving as Treasurer and Internet Marketing Specialist. Ian and Jessica have been married since 2010 and are the proud parents to two beautiful children, aged seven and three. Just as Ian learned the family trade from his father, their children are now growing up in the studio, learning the values of craftmanship, customer service, and the dedication that has defined the Bauer family for generations. Together, Ian and Jessica are honored to lead Aurum Jewelry Studio into the future while preserving the traditions that have made it a trusted name for nearly four decades.
When they're not in the studio, the family enjoys making the most of life on the Emerald Coast. Boating, snorkeling, and enjoying the local scenery are among their favorite pastimes, along with traveling together. Some of their favorite adventures have taken them to the Caribbean, where they enjoy exploring vibrant coral reefs and crystal-clear waters.
